Foundation Event: Financial Literacy Fair
Students at North Wake College and Career Academy will enjoy our fun, interactive Financial Literacy Fair. The goal of this event is to equip young people with a better and more realistic understanding of how to handle money and expenses, deal with budget planning, and grapple with wants versus necessities.
Each student will be assigned an occupation and salary when they arrive at the fair, then rotate through a series of tables that feature everyday expenses like mortgage/rent, health insurance, transportation, entertainment, and more. Throughout the process, students must make responsible decisions, with the hopes that when they arrive at the last table, they will find out that they've done a good job with budgeting.
Volunteers needed to man booths and help guide students through their decision making. Interested in volunteering at this event? Click here: https://wakeforestchamberfoundation.org/volunteer.
