This workshop integrates mindfulness with photography to help women see their camera as a self-care tool to quiet a busy mind and counterbalance the negative stress of fast-paced life.\n\nTo be mindful means to pay attention\, in the present moment\, without judgement or bias. Through moving\, meditative practices with your camera\, you will learn to cultivate stillness and inner peace while shooting images that flow from your spirit.\n\nThis workshop includes mindfulness exercises\, nature walks\, journaling\, image sharing\, and self-care discussions. At the end\, you will be inspired to move a bit slower\, to savor stillness and to always keep your camera close by.\n\nParticipants will learn:\n\n\n \n the basic principles of mindful photography and creative self-care.\n \n \n to recognize judgements\, biases\, expectations\, beliefs and other thoughts that cloud your vision and create stress.\n \n \n to slow down\, learn to live in the present\, and start feeling more peaceful instead of overwhelmed\n \n \n to use the breath to get centered and ground the heart\, mind\, and spirit with positive energy before rushing to click the shutter.\n \n\n\nAnyone who would like to learn how to take meditation "off the cushion" is invited to attend. No previous photography experience is needed. Camera phones to DSLRs are welcome.\n\nPlease bring a journal and appropriate clothing to spend time outside.
