DESCRIPTION:The Wake Forest Area Chamber is pleased to present the 2020 Small Business Summit and Resource Fair\, presented by Wake Tech Small Business Center and Town of Wake Forest. Created to help you start the year with a clear vision\, the event combines engaging marketing presentations with networking\, idea sharing\, and a resource fair. Sponsorships are available.\n\n\n\nAttendees will learn how to take their marketing to a new level using storytelling techniques and social media best practices. Connections will be made over beverages and appetizers while exploring an array of businesses and non-profits that provide services to small businesses.\n\n\n\nKEYNOTE SPEAKERS:\n\n\n\nSloane Heffernan\, The Business of Storytelling\n\nSloane is a two time Emmy Award winning journalist with a passion for storytelling. For the last decade\, she has been sharing stories as a reporter at WRAL-TV. Before planting roots in the Triangle\, Sloane worked as an anchor and reporter at NBC affiliates in Florida and Georgia. Sloane is a graduate of Emerson College in Boston where she received her Bachelors of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism. Her passion for journalism was born from her time observing sports reporters on the sidelines as a member of the New England Patriots Cheerleading Squad. Sloane is married to her high school sweetheart Mark\, and they have three young children. When she is not chasing the big story of the day\, she enjoys sharing her story-telling skills with business leaders and non-profit organizations to help them more effectively connect with their audience and build lasting relationships.\n\n\n\nChisa Pennix-Brown\, Telling Your Story on Social Media\n\nWith over 17 years of experience in business coaching\, community outreach\, social media insight\, CEO Chisa D. Pennix-Brown has transformed persistence and a long-time vision of helping her peers\, into Lady Bizness\, an organization committed to entrepreneurship opportunities and business development for branding\, social engagement\, and marketing. Chisa's desire to create a business and media empire enabling small businesses and individuals to enhance\, enlighten\, empower\, and enrich their station has led to a career centered around cultivating leaders in personal and professional endeavors.
